The HiFi Rose RS130 is a high-end network transport designed to deliver an ultra-clean digital audio signal to an external DAC. It does not include a DAC, but instead focuses entirely on producing the highest-quality digital output with extremely low noise and jitter.

To achieve this, the RS130 uses fiber-optic Ethernet and fiber-optic USB options, which isolate the device from network and computer electrical noise. It includes a high-precision OCXO clock (Oven-Controlled Crystal Oscillator) to ensure extremely stable timing and reduce jitter.

The RS130 also features a supercapacitor-based linear power system, ensuring a stable and low-noise power supply. It supports an external 10 MHz master clock input for synchronization with other high-end audio components.

Its front side is dominated by a large 15.4-inch touchscreen, offering a modern interface for browsing music, controlling playback, and displaying system information. The device runs a customized Android OS, supporting major streaming services such as Tidal, Qobuz, internet radio, AirPlay, DLNA, and is Roon Ready.

For enhanced stability, the RS130 includes a 256 GB NVMe SSD used as a cache for music playback, ensuring smooth and reliable performance. It provides multiple digital outputs including Optical, Coaxial, AES/EBU, and I²S over HDMI, allowing it to connect to a wide range of DACs. The RS130 runs on a customized Android 7.1 operating system and uses a powerful processor consisting of dual Cortex-A72 and quad Cortex-A53 cores, supported by 4 GB of LPDDR4 memory. It includes a 256 GB NVMe solid-state drive used for music cache and improved playback stability. The unit relies on a supercapacitor-based linear power design and a built-in high-precision OCXO clock, and also offers a 10 MHz external clock input through a BNC connector. Network connectivity is provided through an SFP Ethernet slot that can accept either fiber or copper modules, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth available through optional USB adapters.

For audio, the RS130 handles PCM signals up to 32-bit and 768 kHz and DSD audio up to DSD512 in native mode. It provides multiple digital outputs, including optical, coaxial, AES/EBU, and I²S over HDMI, allowing connection to a wide variety of DACs. Video can be output through an HDMI 2.0 connection capable of 4K resolution at 60 Hz. The device supports streaming protocols such as Roon Ready, AirPlay, DLNA/UPnP, and offers compatibility with major streaming services through its apps. It works with NTFS, exFAT, and FAT32 storage formats and can access network files via SMB, FTP, and WebDAV.
